The fact that I will be moving to a place of my own soon has given me motive to think about the type of house I want to live in, the type of house I want to try and build.
House of Simplicity and Purpose
I am not a man of much want. But even so, I still have much that I do not have a need for. This move is another stepping stone towards keeping only what I need. Furthermore, I hope to evolve from a person who realizes to let go of material things to one that does not desire it from the beginning.
Aligned with the previous thought, I wish to live in a house where every object and room has a purpose and use. I do not want objects to collect dust until it is thrown out. I do not want rooms storing boxes that will never be opened.
House of Openness and Acceptance
The people under my roof will be ones with an open mind and accepting of ideas. We will strive to remove prejudice from all encounters and forgiveness will be plentiful. Nothing said will be impossible, outrageous or stupid.
House of Growth
As moving out is already a growing experience, I want to push those boundaries even further. My house will be a place of learning, where I read, watch, do and, most importantly, discuss things which will grow my knowledge, wisdom or insight.
I know from time to time, I will stray from what I originally set out to do. But I hope that from time to time, I will set my path straight because these values are part of the foundation of the house I want to build.
So... what are your plans for those shrink-wrapped video games? :D Also, when is the estimated move in date?
ReplyDeleteI might leave them at home. I haven't really gotten to that point yet. And the move will happen pretty soon.
