Always Connected

I like my technology. I have a blu-ray player. I have an iPhone with a massive, and expensive, data plan. I drive a hybrid car. Yes, technology does taste sweet to me. But in some cases, I think people go too far.

I was in the bathroom one day and in the stall next to me I heard the clicking of a blackberry. It shouldn't have been a surprise to me. All of the upper management had received BB Curves so that they could answer their e-mail where ever they go. But I found this incredibly disgusting. I mean, what if I had to borrow the phone from this person? What if he dropped it on the bathroom floor and I held it against my ear? Gah!

Today, someone came in to the stall next to me. I heard some sounds that resembled the noises Windows made. I thought that someone had just brought in a PDA with Windows Mobile on it. But then I heard the click of keys and that's when I realized that the person was typing on a laptop. Who the hell brings a laptop to the bathroom? What e-mail are you typing that is so important it can't wait ten minutes until you're off the can? Is it weird to get a slight chill every time I receive an e-mail now?

  1. I can see where you're coming from, I really can. And I agree... mostly.

We're moving into a digital age where everything is being put into digital format. So do you think that bringing a magazine into the bathroom is equally disgusting? Because that's all they're replacing by bringing their blackberry or whatever with them.

However, talking on the phone while on the can is disgusting, there is no excuse for that one.

  3. OK, lets see if I can remember what I was saying... GYAD!

One of my life goals is to have my own web-comic. The theme of this comic will be everything I hate about washrooms. Your above blog is the outline for my first comic strip.

  4. You can also include everything I hated about the washroom of the hotel we stayed in while we were in Montreal.
